To Keep You From the Knife

by Daniel Mulvany   Nov 5, 2004

The knife that rips your skin,
Rips my heart in two.
Am I not a friend,
Who instead you could run to?
Why do you pretend,
It's something you must do,
When you know in the end,
It's not worth going through?
When are my words enough,
To keep you from the knife?
Why is this time so rough?
It seems so full of strife.
I know it might be tough,
But I hope that youll find life,
To be more than enough,
To keep you from the knife.
