E-mail

by dawn   Nov 7, 2004

I opened my inbox
Nothing special I said to myself
A few advertisements
An e-mail for some kind of membership

About to close the window to my e-mail
I saw a familiar name
I clicked on the subject

Oh my gosh I thought to myself
I haven't heard from him in months
Why did he e-mail me now

He was one of my old friends
In my old town
I'd lost contact with most of my friends

I read through the e-mail
He told me he had finally straightened up his act
He told me how he was doing
It was a relief for me

I'd been worried that he might have ended up in jail
He use to cause so many problems
So,I wasn't really sure

I e-mailed him back
I had a smile on my face
That day had been a bad one
Now it suddenly was good

I figured out that day
That an e-mail from old friends
Can brighten up a bad day
