Waiting

by Erica Brown©   Nov 10, 2004

Seeing his face made her glad,
Being away from him made her sad.
Then came one awful day,
Her love went away.
Promising he'd be right back,
She waited still like a filled up sack.
Days and weeks passed by,
She wondered if his promise was a lie.
To this day she waits for her love,
Who flew away like a dove.
Taking her life along too,
Leaving her with nothing to do.
But to stay very true,
To the man she promised an "I do" to.
