My greatest memory

by mary T   Nov 30, 2004

I lay awake at night, wishing your were here
Reaching out for you, then returns my greatest fear
My head rests upon my pillow,my eyes wide awake
Knowing in my heart that this feeling isn't fake
Searching for you hand, where there is nothing left to touch
Remembering the love that we once shared that I miss so very much
Wanting your embrace, needing it like air
Knowing that this is anything but fair
You were the love of my life, what happened to our chance?
Where did we go wrong? What if we took a second glance?
Would you still have left that night with anger in your eyes?
Would we have gotten the chance to say our last goodbyes?
Just one more time to see your smile. the way it brings me joy
The grin you would get whenever I would call you my baby boy
The time together was short. but my greatest memory it shall be
All my days to my heart you will forever hold the key
Now that your gone I feel so alone
Every time I hear a ring I reach for the phone
But it is never you, someone else's voice I hear
Then rushing back returning my greatest fear
My lover, my friend, someday I will join you in the sky
An as angels together we will always fly :)
