Love Revisited

by Daniel Mulvany   Nov 30, 2004

This love is so indescribable that words cannot express,
How fully I've become entangled in it's subtle sweet caress.
Endless interchanging pathways that I've walked along so long,
Have brought me to a juncture where seemingly nothing can be wrong.
But love, it's such a simple thing to those cannot see.
Yes love, it's not the same to you as what it is to me.
My love is like the essence of the sweetest smelling rose,
For though its face is beautiful, a thorn, beneath it, grows.
Heartbreak is oh so hard to take, but life sets none apart.
Enduring heartbreak helps reveal what true love is to the heart.
This thorn has pricked me oh so deep but I will not decline,
For love to be a part by intervention so divine.
So I again accept you as you, here, before me, stand,
Inviting you to, possibly, be mine if you would take my hand.
And though love once before has left me bruised and limp and lame,
In time we both may find that I will love you just the same.
