Not Goodbye Forever

by dandy   Dec 10, 2004

My dear friend, where should I start?
Now that you must truly part.

We met in seventh grade,
three short years ago.
What a friend you became to me,
I never could have known.

I got to talking with you,
and so soon I did find;
That you didn't judge like everyone else.
You were so nice and kind.

We laughed at all the stupid things,
Liar Liar and the Grinch.
But you were always there when needed,
aiding my every clinch.

Good times together at Canobie Lake, school and Adventure Bound.
Along with the many jokes and laughs,
a great friend in you I found.

This is not goodbye forever.
I just can't let that be.
Your friendship is worth much more than that,
you're such a dear friend to me.

I'll be sure to write and keep in touch,
I'll call you on the phone.
Please don't fear though my dear friend,
because you are never alone.

No matter where life takes you,
whatever you may do.
Please remember my dear friend,
I'll always be there for you.

My dear friend, this is not goodbye.
Not for ever, though still I'll cry.

This is for my friend who's moving all the way to Missouri this Saturday. We've been friends for three years, and I can't believe she's leaving. She will be missed greatly.
