Forbidden Love

by Kia   Dec 11, 2004

I wrote this for my friend.

Seeing him was forbidden
Her parents didn’t want them together
So they had to keep their love hidden

Their parents tore them apart
But nothing really separated them
He is still deep in her heart

A smile and a passing glance in the hall
Tore her heart and soul and very self
The distance between them made her bawl

Keeping a secret from her mom and dad
Forced to be in a clandestine relationship
But not being able to share made her sad

Her parents didn’t see how she loved him so
They thought she was to young for this
But how she felt was not easy to let go

They said she needed time to mature
“If you feel the same later on” they said
“Things will work out” though she wasn’t sure

Only time will tell if things will work
Until then she just has to hope and pray
But her emotions and feelings are going berserk

(or does this sound better for the last stanza)

Only time will tell if things will work right
Until then she just has to hope and pray
But now she sits and cries wishing she could be with him tongiht
