My Fairy Tale

by ;Samm;   Dec 14, 2004

Once upon a time,
In a kingdom far away
There lived a distressed princess
That had so much to say.

But there was no one to listen,
And that was the story's curse...
And unlike most fairy tales
This one ends with the worst .

See, no one though she really knew
What she was talking about
So she had trouble communicating,
Even if she did scream and shout.

One day, when she had turned of age
And was about to take the crown,
She stood at the front of a large room
full of people, prepared to bow down.

Dressed in a gown of black silk and mesh
And wearing sadness in her eyes
She decided to speak just on comment
That was sure to express her cries.

Her crimson lips smiled slightly,
And down her cheek slid a single black tear
And she stared at the guests with a silence
that filled the room with fear.

She began to speak so silently,
But realized she had nothing to gain,
So she increased her voice's volume..
This was sure to make them hear her pain!

She stood up straight, held her head high
And she raised her voice so proud
She knew that this one, single statement
Just HAD to get through to the crowd:

"When I am queen
I will exist
With perfect scars
Upon my wrists" *

No one understood this though,
So she sighed and took her crown
And she silently cried all alone,
In a room full of people, bowed down

And than from somewhere in the distance
A comment was made that she didn't hear
And maybe if she HAD heard it
She'd be alive on her death date this year.

But instead, this date somehow
Is a date that history forgot,
The history, the life of the lonely princess
That decided to block her own shot.
