Blackbirds In The Night

by unknown   Dec 20, 2004

[intro - verse 1]
The path below my weathering feet is rough and forsaken
The nights air grabs my lungs within its grasp…
the blackness around me devours my vision.
The blackbirds fly unseen in the night, one of same colour, decreasing in the world..

[verse 2]
Fly to the black world, following a path only with a sound, no end or beginning.
The sounds of the blackbirds that I follow can be misleading, misconception is on their feathered wings …
Follow me down the rough, forsaken path and the night will guide you, a bird will show you the way…

[chorus]
In my heart and eyes I feel a way that is not real..
My state of mind in the world, I feel for the wind and cry for the rain..
Trees get ripped and I get cut, the deeps wound, I cry in pain…
The waste of space myself I feel an endless mutiny..

[verse 3]
The colour of the world is black and grey, nothing else shows in the blackbirds eye..
The pupils focus on one thing, hate that burns deep, sadness that flows freely..
An endless movement, a beginning with no cause, its an irrelevant comment..
Carry me down the darkest of paths, my trust in you is all that is complete in my life..
Everything else stands in wonder, in the darkness, hidden from my sight..
The black against black, the subject of weeping, the weakness of tears, a river of salt..
A dry sea bed, so distraught, stay in the shadows my dearest, don’t show yourself..
They might see, they might complain, they might hurt you, black against black is where you hide..

[chorus]
In my heart and eyes I feel a way that is not real..
My state of mind in this world, I feel for the wind and cry for the rain..
Trees get ripped and I get cut, the deeps wound, I cry in pain…
The waste of space, myself I feel an endless mutiny..

[verse 4]
Coldness has caught you, a darkness has corrupted you, a weakness so beautiful…
How can a god not take advantage of it, a wondering soul of forsaken memories…
Black of the darkest silk is a colour worth while…red of the darkest velvet is a colour you must connive against…
Let no other disregard you, let no other mutinies you, let yourself rule the unseen blackbird, alone..
Oh black little bird carry me on your deceitful wings carry me away from my pain and take me away from this resentful world, the plague infects even the sweetest minds…
