The Broken Hallway

by ReaperGirl   Dec 21, 2004

The Broken Hallway

There’s a man standing
In a broken hallway
Staring at the ceiling
With eyes that aren't there

See the angels, flying,
Somersaulting, dying,
You don’t seem to see them
Is it because you just don’t care

The demons they surround me
Whispering of downfall
Of apples and of Adam’s
And everlasting Eve

They don’t see the wonder
The beauty and delight
All they see is fire
And all the wars to fight

Now blood runs down the windows
As he searches for the wisdom
Only stumbling on despair
When Death must swing his scythe
