Boxing Day Blues

by ~*^*~ longing to belong ~*^*~   Dec 29, 2004

The presents are un-wrapped,
The paper thrown away,
Vegetables, turkey and stuffing,
The remains of Christmas day,

The toys have all been played with,
The books have all been read,
Everyone feels sleepy,
And it’s not yet time for bed,

Draped across the sofa,
Listlessly watching T.V,
We could be writing thank you’s,
But we’re all feeling lazy,

The relatives have all left,
Gone for another year,
Next Christmas will be the same,
But at least the New Year is nearly here!
