Blessed Peace

To fight the good fight against the pain,
And hold on to a love in vain.
Or slip the bonds into dark night,
Surrender to a losing fight.

This dilemma faces me,
Will this journey ever be?
Will I win or will I lose,
Just one path I now must choose.

Now I must make a choice,
Do I have an inner voice?
Or flip a coin and heed it's call,
Struggle on or surrender all.

In matters springing from the heart,
Can reason play a guiding part?
Love can be a fleeting thing,
Along with joy such pain can bring.

I'll be still and listen deep,
In my heart the love I'll keep.
And pray that by my letting go,
A blessed peace I'll finally know.
