Heroes Code~kleos aphtheton

by Elizabeth Ann   Feb 2, 2005

Auth note~inspired by Homer’s works.
********************
Before my epic loss enlists my name among thou prominent legion, I must bide.
I have lingered my imminent legend reveling unto thee, Trojan brother…
Invited to be blessed, a divine providence wrested from my name.

Now my flight of passing ye gods, trained unto oblivion…
Through a torrent of faith there nothing lay…

And is sudden as verity folds we’ve embraced, my brothers come before me.
One more among us heroes in Achilles’ legion.

Ah, more Homeric poems telling interesting tales of interesting individuals in manners hitherto untrodden. :)
