Dear Boy

by Valerie   Feb 2, 2005

Dear Boy,
I still look at you with a loving glare,
I look in your eyes and can't help but care
Together we shared incredible moments
Now I look while nothing is spoken

Dear Boy,
Why did you change my life forever?
Why did you promise we would be together?
I put all of my trust into your heart
I gave you my happiness right from the start

Dear Boy,
Months grew from weeks and weeks grew from days
I sacrificed everything and began changing my ways
After many movies watched and many kisses shared
My like grew to love, and I became scared.

Dear Boy,
You broke down all of my walls
I then gave up and started to fall
Into your arms is where I landed
Not yet knowing if your heart had expanded

Dear Boy,
I closed my eyes and took a chance
I took a gamble on love and romance
For a while it worked, everything was fine
I was your girl, and you were all mine

Dear Boy,
I knew what was happening, the change of your heart
We were not growing together, but instead growing apart
I looked in your eyes and asked you why
Two tears streamed down, one from each eye

Dear Boy,
We sat together hugging and crying
We sat together with both our hearts dying
You told me I was your best friend
You told me our love would never end

Dear Boy,
You said you once loved me very much
You said that now we are losing touch
Being just friends, is what you decided
This hit me so fast, I was blind sided

Dear Boy,
That night my heart broke for the first time
Because of that night, you were no longer mine
You had once loved me and I still loved you
Now I was forced to start over new

Dear Boy,
Now we don't speak, but that's okay
You left me broken with nothing to say
My heart is mending, I'm doing alright
I'm beginning to heal from that terrible night
