City of Sundown

by Ian Robert   Feb 9, 2005

Goodbye lovely city,
Take a few minutes,
Consider why we exist.

In this hopeless city we sit,
Make sure you close your eyes,
Don't look at me, turn away.

Peacefully blend into the decay,
Sundown is coming on strong,
Just view the horizon and hope.

Tomorrow we'll sing a louder song,
Painting along the cloudy sky,
Birds playing along.

So go home and pray today,
Washed up and waiting at bay,
Under my sheets I'll lay.

A perfect poem, while sitting contently before the window just home from work.
    Enjoying this spendid view
and everything seems right in the world.
