I’ve had some hard times
I know you have too
And I just want to take some time
To tell you how thankful I am for you

Do you remember that time
When I sat home all day and cried
I thought nothing would ever be better
And I wished that I would die

Do you remember that night
When I put the blade to my wrist
Then I looked at the wall
And punched it with my fist

Do you remember
How you would always brightened my day
And how you could make me smile
When no one else could find a way

I know your life isn’t always easy
I know a lot of shit goes on
But I will always be here for you
When everything else is gone

Your birthday is here
And i'll be praying for you
That all of your hopes and wishes
On this special day will come true

You truly are
Such a great friend
And I want you to know
I’ll be there from start to end
