You told me you loved me
You said that you cared
But honestly, tell me
Was your love really there?

I opened my heart
And let you come in
You meddled with feelings;
You broke me from within.

I was so naïve
To believe it could be true.
I thought somebody could love me
I thought that someone could be you.

But you learn from your mistakes, right?
Next time I’ll be better prepared.
I know my heart will be broken again
So what’s the point in being scared?

So please know these tears I’m crying
Are tears to help me see…

**uhm... i wrote this for a guy who said he loved me but then a couple weeks later decided to tell me he loved another girl... oh how good that felt**
