Broken mirror

Broken, exposed...
in front of the mirror...
confused and disappointed
my soul, so unclear

I cannot believe
The face staring back
Smile remains absent
as my heart fades to black

i cannot accept
the eyes that i see
stranger present-
this cannot be me

something is wrong
the mirror must be broken
i open my mouth
but nothing is spoken

amidst my encounter
i've come to realize
I've become someone
I can't even recognize

And suddenly
a smile does creep
across the face
that doesn't weep

the face in the mirror
does not follow my lead
looks like my evil
has finally been freed
