Twinkle Twinkle

by N J Thornton   Feb 27, 2005

Twinkle twinkle sapphire hues
In your eyes clearest of blues
This a gift so rare to find
Given for our hearts to bind
Twinkle twinkle sapphire hues
In the sky for us to muse

Glowing glowing as the moon
Humming but a slender tune
Strolling sweetly hand in hand
Here upon the golden sand
Glowing glowing as the moon
Floating in a slate lagoon

Swaying swaying to and fro
As the wind does gently blow
Speaking nothing but a kiss
Being in nothing but sheer bliss
Swaying swaying to and fro
Dancing to the tide echo

Twinkle twinkle diamond ring
Brought upon an angels wing
So he lowers to one knee
The one to spend his life with me
Twinkle twinkle diamond ring
Listen as the bells do sing

I usually don't partake in love poems but I really liked this. Your imagery was fantastic as were your symbols, and it had a pleasent atmosphere created by the tone you set for the piece which added all the more romance and splendor to the writing. I did think though that a few lines i read i had seen all too oft, they were unoriginal and overused. but I only saw a couple of those throughout the piece. I did think you could do something better with this line though,
"Being in nothing but sheer bliss"
I see what your saying, but i think that could have been stated in a more poetic way.
    My favorite lines were,
    "Twinkle twinkle diamond ring
    Brought upon an angels wing
So he lowers to one knee
The one to spend his life with me
    Twinkle twinkle diamond ring
Listen as the bells do sing"
That stance was just uplifting and all together full of emotional splendor. Well done
