Awakening

by David O   Aug 1, 2003

O my lovely maiden so fair,
How the sight of you brings song to my spirit,
Dare I bequeath to you my heart?
Dare I lower these walls once more?

Filled with awe am I
With your beauty, your joy, your laughter,
Trembling within I peer into my soul,
For my soul is so comforted by its aloneness...

Dare I trust again?
My heart broken so very long ago,
These many years I have become one with my pain,
O sweet pain, my comforting companion...

Yet as I now gaze into your eyes,
As I feel your embrace and taste your lips,
My heart cries out for love once more,
O princess how I do ache for your love...

Sweet lovely lady of mine,
You are a flower of fragrance divine,
For now my Jericho you have become,
Yes, the savior of my heart and soul...

My walls are slowly crumbling
How my spirit awakens with your touch!
For now willingly I embrace your love
Take my heart sweet lady and caress it gently...

For I bow before you, your humbled lover,
I bestow upon you all that I am
Pray be your tenderness, your patience
For no man can love you more...than I.
