ONE

by william payne   Mar 8, 2005

Hey Chris, this ones for you.

I remember when i first met her
I thought she looked hot in that sweater
And after a night of strip poker
And a romantic evening in the days inn which nothing happened
I knew she was the one

The next time i was home
We had our magic moment on a bed made of foam
And we lied awake for hours
And then slept in each others arms
Lord i knew she was the one

Then she came to visit me
She came to see her favorite marine
We saw Kid Rock and Aerosmith
And had many a nights with many a kiss
And when she left boy was i sad
But then she gave me the best news I'd ever had
She was having my only son
And i knew she was the one

On November 30, 2003 that was the day she married me
She looked as beautiful as could be
And now forever she'd be the one

But things started going wrong
The love birds weren't singing their same old song
It looked like we were just to young
I wasn't sure if she was the one

We both made some mistakes we both regret
I got over hers, but she couldn't forget
And many a nights alone I'd sit
Thinking she wasn't the one

So we decided to take a break
Figured we'd just separate
You'd do your thing and I'd do mine
And see how we'd feel in a few months time
There's a saying i remembered today
You never know what you have till its gone away
And I'm up all night wishing i could hear her say how she feels the same way
This house is lonely here all alone
With only her blanket to shield me from the cold
I'm wishing she was here to hold
Cause you'll forever be the one

My one and only
My one true love
My one wife
Whom i still love
And i pray that we r not done
Cause there could never, ever be another one

( and yes Chris, i know it was 2002, but nothing rhymed with that..lol)
