Something I lost

I lost something so dear to me I locked it up and threw away the key

I took it for granted didn't know how good I had it

But now that I've lost it I am depressed

It loved me for me
But that I didn't see

All I saw was a face
some eyes and a smile too

Not how much I loved it
It was only one out of a very few

I talked to it all the time night and day

The first time I saw it,
It took my breath away

Our love was everlasting
And was always true

I'll love it forever
Cause the thing I lost was you
