Creature of the Fire

by dandy   Mar 11, 2005

So calm the demeanor of this creature,
Yet still he is not tamed;
A raging fire is the feature,
For which this flame is named;
It licks the rambling deserts,
and singes flowing prairies;
A person's senses it diverts,
and one's burdens are what it carries;
A fiery sculpture sweeping the artist,
up and off his feet;
For even writers of smartest,
the flame has their mind beat;
But I look upon the softer version of this raging fire,
Upon the creature's back, it is here that I retire.
