To Mom - September 11

by Heather   Mar 14, 2005

There was only one person
Who had a friendship we both shared
It was my mommy, and I knew
That she was always there

She worked in the towers
The ones that touched the sky
Working on the 115 floor
Where it rose so high

Every day she worked
I wish it hadnt been that way
Because on September the 11
Mommy died that day

I only sat at school
Anxious to get home
Not knowing that Ide find out
I was going to be alone

There wasnt a note on the table
And no shoes were on the floor
But a while later
I heard a knock at the door

There daddy stood
But behind him, was no sun
He looked at me with eyes so sad,
Sweetheart, mommys gone

As he put me in his arms
I hugged daddy tight
And watched him cry his heart out
For mommy through the night

But why did those people
Have to make me so sad?
Not only me but hundreds of children
Who lost their moms and dads

I know why were at war
To fight for our countrys rights
So that all of our Americans
Can sleep safe and sound at night

I want our troops to fight
for our country and defend
All the people who died
So this wont happen again

Why dont people get
We have to be at war?
Do they want to happen
What afllicted our country before?

Im know the people in heaven
Who died on that memorable day
Would want us to die fighting
Than die in an unjustice way

So this is for you mom
And I hope we all remember
All the people who died
On the 11 of September

I love you mom...
