What has love done to me?

I think I have lost love
The last flaming embers of a once great emotion are being blown away by Father Time
When I say I have lost love I don’t mean that I’ve broken up with someone
I mean I think I have lost the ability to love
What remains is lust and possession

How could a once blood red passionate heart
Now beat with a cold blue distain
I was alive once and to love I gave everything
And love took everything and did not reciprocate

Love did not only take
It sucked me dry
And yet I gave into love time and time again
And now I feel nothing, I could not be bothered

Will I ever feel again
I do not know
Where will all this end up
I do not know

But I do know that love does not conquer all
And that life does not always end happy
And I do know that love is not all you need
What has this emotion done to me?
