The Perfect Night

The Perfect Night

As day turns into night,
I know that what I’m feeling is right;
Just hold my hand and then we'll go,
Into the darkness where our hearts will grow.
A fondness begins, a love so trying;
Don't let go of me, and you shall see just how much we were meant to be.

I’ve dreamt of nights like this,
Nights that are so perfect in every way:
First there was dinner,
And then a walk where we stopped to lay,
To look up at the stars and decide that we'd rather 'laugh with the sinners'.

From the sand you helped me up,
Lead me towards the house without caring about the dishes or cups.
It was dark at first, but then candles were lit,
Music from the stereo surely hit
The soft spot in my heart when I heard my favorite song play
And I looked at you without knowing a single word to say.

Once again, I was aware of your hand
While it held mine as we danced along to the rhythm of the band.
You breathed on my neck and gave me chills,
My heart raced rapidly, like I was running on a hill.
Never before have I felt for someone what I feel for you,
Because no one else has ever bothered to do,
Such wonderful things for me like what’s happened here tonight.
It shows how much you care and how far you’re willing to go
To make my eyes light up and my whole face glow.

You are something special, someone worthwhile
I’m the luckiest girl with the “prettiest smile”.
You have no idea how much you really mean to me,
If I could tell you in any way, I think it’d be to let you know that you have given me my perfect night.
