I’m lying in my bed tossing and turning
from a feeling deep inside that’s burning
Trying to think how this whole thing started
Before us two suddenly departed
I was king of the school who everybody knew
doing everything that I wanted to do.
Loving all the ladies but not loved back
no matter how good I treated them no matter how good I act
I thought I became a hopeless romantic
The thought of no one to love made me frantic
Until the day I met you
It was too good to be true
At first when I saw you, you were pretty shy
A pretty quiet girl, didn’t talk to guys
So I decided to do something funny, just to make you smile
it took a bit of time but it was sure worth my while
I got you to talk to me without any fear
When you were happy, sad, or when you shed a tear
You knew I was there, waiting for you
Making your fairy tale wishes come true
After several months I finally asked you to be mine
You said yes and that made me sparkle and shine
You knew I could protect you, safe from harm
when I had you secure in my arms
I thought everything was sent here from heaven
until i got a call one night @ 9:11.
It was you but you were crying
You were about to say something, you just kept trying
you said “I’m sorry this has to end
but can’t we still be friends?
you will find a girl way better then me
you’re so amazing you will see.”
I’ve been hurting by the words you said
not that you wanted to break up but instead
you said I’d find a girl better then you
how could you say that? there’s no girl better then you
you were the only girl who helped keep my cool
you were the only girl who thought I wasn’t a fool
you were the girl who gave me that chance
when I held out my hand and asked you to dance
So you see? you’re better then all the girls
you helped me open my eyes and see the world
when I’m with you, I forget everything I worry
my stress, my problems that made my thinking blurry
you’ve helped me so much you’ve opened a new door
that got me even closer to the heaves and the lord
of course we can still be friends what could I do?
All I could say was simply...thank you
