Is It Your Right?

by Kristy Green   Apr 12, 2005

You think it's normal
as if you do it all the time
you leave
you come back
pretend nothing's changed
as if you never went away
and before I had a chance
before I could even open my eyes
you leave
you're gone all over again

Is this your right?
is this right to you?
am I wrong?
is this how it is?
is this the story of your life? is this how the story ends (he'll be back again)?
is it that?

who knows when you'll pop up again
in ways, I anticipate your return
just so I can cause you pain
and hold a fire to your heart
til you burn
it's your turn
burn
I'll burn all of you away
til all that's left is the smoke of where you use to stay

I'm gonna burn you
like you burned me, baby
is this my right?
do you think this is right?
don't you know that you're smoke?
don't you know that you're burnt?
does it hurt?
don't you think it's wrong?
is it your right to say what is wrong?
after all the pretending you've done
after all the lies you fed all along

this is my turn
this is my right
this time you'll be the one to get burned
this time you'll hurt
this time I'm gonna be the one who's alright
and baby, this IS my right
