In Truth

by Kristy Green   Apr 12, 2005

Look for me...I'm the one with the broken smile
I'd love you to
but, I won't ask you stay a while
I dread the words to follow
and I can't let you know
about my feelings
don't want to be taken for granted
don't want to be that vulnerable
It scares me that I wish
for nothing more than my heart to you-
be handed
would you ake advantage?
or just not be there with similar words true
so my truth will stay hidden from you

what feeling do you hold? is something I can't ask to be told
when, with mine
I hide
but, in truth
I want to ask
please rest by my side
of me do not deny
just take me in with you
so, I won't have to ask
why not me?

my heart door is cracked open
peeking through the gap
wondering
is it safe out there?
I'm waiting behind this half-closed door
I'm waiting for you to open it more
will you?
I promise that I will love you in truth

and now my hands are trembling
waiting for your response
grasp them quick
before tears of abandonment start setting
love me please
so I can love you with ease
