Silent Phone Calls

by Erica Brown©   Apr 18, 2005

I waited..
For the sun to shine,
Making the birds chirp,
Not only that but,
For that phone to ring,
To hear your first words.
But no.
What I got was rainy days,
Quiet hours,
And no proof of the truth,
How simple was it
For you to act like you care.
Not pretend, but for real.
I guess I was wrong.
And I don't know where you are.
In my heart...
My mind...
And on the other side,
Of that silent phone
