The Sweet Love That Ended Sour

by kelsielaroche   Apr 23, 2005

( i apologize for the length of this poem, and you'll have to use your imagination..it is not a true story i have not gone through it but i just thought of it..i was inspired by a book. thank you. enjoy.x)

He travelled alot,
His days were cold,
Looking for love,
To call his own.

He spotted her,
And her beautiful eyes,
Her presence was pure grace,
He sighed.

Waiting to approach her,
She looked forward to,
But she turned away,
To another man,
Who was unkind and cold,
He probably didn't even know her name.

He needed her,
She wanted him,
This forbidden love affaire,
Couldn't possibly end.

She'd see him as often as she could,
They wanted to be together,
And get away from it all.

She knew it was impossible,
And that it could never be,
She knew they would find out,
But he just couldn't see.

She pushed him away,
As far as she could,
Saying the meanest things,
Being as cruel as she could,
Inside she was dying,
But he could only see,
The fire in her eyes,
He knew she didn't want to be mean.

He told her he loved her,
And started to cry,
She could see the pain in his eyes.

* * *

A few years have passed,
And they have moved on,
The times they had together,
They still go on.

He thinks about her every minute,
She thinks about him every day,
Wondering why they couldn't be,
He wonders why he couldn't stay.

The depression is taking over,
After years of a broken heart,
She's too weak to fight,
She can't go on.

The story ends like this,
She dies as you can see,
She dies for the only man she loved,
She died because of me.
