I thought I had moved on
thought I was sure
I thought I could live without you
thought I could endure

I jumped in too quickly
and got too involved
Started thinking about the arguments
and problems never solved

Memories came rushing back to me
coming to sadden me again
When I said this heartache has passed
my heart didn't mend

I envy her once again
I can't stop changing my mind
I shut my eyes when I see you
so I might as well be blind

I didn't ask for this
It was never demanded
You left me for her
You left me empty-handed

So whenever I see you with her
I'll try not to cry
I'll try to hold it in
If not I'll shut my eyes
