Doubting love

by Sean   Apr 29, 2005

So I love you,
I’m sure you doubt that.

Is that because,
I offer you simplicity,
An ironic “I love you”
Meaningless words,
Hopeless comfort?

So you love me?
And I can be so sure.
While you offer me interest,
An angelic “I love you”
Meaningful words,
Beautiful comfort.

So you doubt my love?
I’m sure I don’t.

Is that because,
I offer you jealousy,
A word of what seems to be a
Fake compliment.
A tiresome hug,
And meaningless words.
Just like these.

So i ask,
Was loving me worth your time?

very nice, I especially like the way you broke the sentence to allow Fake Compliment to shine and stand out.

One mistake though, it should be AN ironic "I love you".
