When I gazed down upon the sea
I saw the shadow that was me
A vague resemblance to my face
An image of myself upon this place
Looking upon this bay
I am speechless as to what to say
A life that may become my own
A new sun which might just dawn
I stare into the water in disbelief
A sprinkling of tears in the great relief
Life is giving my one more chance
My past put behind me in one last glance
Upon the road I take a stride
As happiness greats me I start to glide
Upon joyous feelings inside my heart
They were always here from the very start
Longing for a love to feel
I realize now that love is real
Not to be found outside this place
It lurks in us with elegant grace
