I remember

by Lori Groth   May 10, 2005

I remember the times of laughter and joy
And the times when it was just us
When I forgot all my worries because
All I ever wanted was for us to be happy together

I remember the days when the site of you
Stopped my heart and made me smile
And I knew that I wanted to spend every waking moment
Of that day with you, in your arms

I remember the daydreams of us
In a variety of present to future situations
And it gave me the reassurance
That we would forever be together

I remember the nights watching movies
When we held hands and sat close
When we’d cuddle and lean
And we didn’t care what others thought of us

I remember the moments when I doubted our love
And I thought it would all come crashing down
And everything we ever had would be lost
Now those thoughts actually became a reality

I remember the tears that I cried
For so many nights after that day
And when I told myself you weren’t worth the tears,
It made me cry all that much more

I remember the picture of you hanging on my wall
And I’d look at when I needed you most
And was constantly looking at after that day
Just so you know, it’s still hanging there

But most of all, I remember YOU
Blond-haired, blue-eyed you
The guy who made me laugh and filled my heart with love
The one who gave me a sense of security when I felt most insecure

Now, even though I remember you,
Have you yet forgotten me?
