Letting Go

by Crissy   May 16, 2005

I'm standing here in silence,
In disbelief of what you said.
What made you do the things you did?
What was running through your head?
How do you get so drunk...
That it changes the way you feel?
What made her seem so much better than me?
God... This is so unreal!
You told me you went to a party,
But you only had one drink.
Well obviously you had more than that,
If it changed the way you think.
You told me you didn't know her,
Which only made it worse!
You said you were giving her a ride home,
But she some-what left her purse.
When you went back to get it,
You said there was no one in sight.
I guess that's when yo old yourself,
"No other time is right."
So you did the worst thing ever.
You chose to cheat on me.
And even though you say your sorry,
It's my pain you cannot see!
And still you're standing here in front of me,
Your head turned to the ground,
We are both standing here crying,
And still not making a sound.
I swallow my pride and grab your arms,
And we stand here holding each other tight.
Kinda like we used to do,
Whenever we got over a fight.
But this time it's so much different,
Because soon I'll have to let go.
And even though I don't want to...
I have to - This we both know!
