Just A Fling

by Emma Carnage   May 16, 2005

Nothing's left
Between you and me
Nobody's here to catch me when I fall
You left behind nothing but debris

I thought I needed you
I didn't think I could make it alone
But now I don't need you around
I can make it through the unknown

I was just fooling myself
Saying things would work out
Telling myself you might care for me
I would ignore all the doubt

I still wish you were mine
Although now I have no hope
I'll never be in your arms
My happiness is falling down the slope

I just want to let you know
That I did want us to have each other
I did want us to stay happy
But now you have another

Before I come to an end
Just let me say one last thing
It's just a simple question
Was what we had just a fling?
