Money Can't Buy Happiness

by XღÜñ§€€ñ¯†€ª®§ღX   May 18, 2005

Diamonds to sparkle,
And gold to shine.
To make me forget,
That you were once mine.

Buy the expensive perfume,
And the flashy shoes.
Material items so I'll forget,
About these love-sick blues.

Makeup to disguise,
How much I really miss you,
Foolishy buying things I don't need,
I think a new purse will do.

But the purse didn't cut it,
Nor did the diamonds or the gold.
This new perfume is useless,
If I don't have you here to hold.

Money can't buy my happiness,
I still wonder where you are.
How you're doing, who you're with,
Who's replacing my seat in your car.

I try to make myself feel better,
By replacing what's falling apart.
But it doesn't do any good,
You can't replace a broken heart.
