WALKING aWAY

My eyes were brimmed with tears
and my heart was full of pain
I knew that you weren't there
still i kept calling out your name
I looked back a thousand times
and i couldn't catch my breath
i wondered what you were doing
and if you even cared that i had left
my heart beat with uneasiness
and my steps were without pace
i tried to pretend i was okay
but i kept picturing your face
i didn't know what i had done wrong
or why nothing seemed to matter
but i thought I'd show you my way
and make myself even sadder
walking away took so much strength
but i had reason, so you see
it was the most painful moment of my life
when i realized you weren't coming after me.
