If I could just go back

I never thought the time would come.
When i would go with out seeing you for so long.
It seem as if it is going by so slow.
I wish i would have never had to go.
But it was not us to blame
They made me leave and stay away
I tried so hard to run to you
They cuffed me and said you are through
I wanted to call you and say i made it OK
They said no, you can't and you have to stay
Every time i think about you
My heart starts to break
If i could just go back
I'd have told you Goodbye
And how I would miss you come tomorrow
I wish that I had you to hold
The days so long nights so silent
I feel like i should be violent
I need a voice to let me know
That everything will work out even if it seems slow.
