Worth The Wait

I've spent time dreaming of what it would be like,
Who it would be with,
Would it hurt or would I be fine?
I wasn't very experienced, but I had made up my mind.
I knew who I wanted it to be with and I wanted it to feel right.

We had waited a long time,
And we didn't rush in to anything new,
But then I realized I wanted my first time to be with only you.

It wasn't planned and wasn't done in candle light,
But to me it felt so right.
We took it slow, you were gentle and didn't want to see me in pain.
During it you kept asking me if I was OK.
Then you said those words, those words that made the butterflies grow,
Those five words "Baby I love you so"

And after it was over,
I couldn't help myself but smile,
Yes it took us a while,
And although wasn't how I'd dreamed,
To be with you was all I need and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

I don't have any regrets for what we did,
And I'm happy that we waited that long,
You were without a doubt worth the wait,
I'm just hoping, praying, that you feel the same way,
That I too was the worth the wait for you.
