Release Me (What do you see?)

by Jadeism   May 25, 2005

Release Me

The blackest sins
feeding on me
The most poisonious substance
Surrounding my heart
The tightest noose
Suffocating-
The hardest drink
Intoxicating-

Tell me
What do you see?

Can you see
the evil that gnaws at
my soul; a superior being
residing in me; invisible hand
holding a gun to my head
can you not see
can you not see

Black metal
Feel the coldness
Dry gravel
Small yet sharp,
cutting deep
Shiny surfaces
can you not see
my reflection?

Tell me
What do you see?

Cold droplets
crystal clear
clings dear
to this metal device
polished with fear
and I hear
the sound echoing
ever so clear...

Tell me
Do you hear?

I do not God's bidding
Held at gun point
Reflections of the past
Holding me prisoner

Can you not tell...
What is in me?

Release me
I've come this far
Given you my name
But leave me my soul.
