The World

by Zachariah Jones   Jun 1, 2005

I heard your voice as I walked away
The cries slicing the mid-morning air
The wind blowing through your hair
Turning away, thinking this isn’t fair
Not wanting to do what I have to do
Clutching on the hope, the hope in you
Trying to walk away unaffected, afflicted
To you I am hopelessly addicted
A bittersweet pill for us to digest
Tears welling up inside, I congest
I heard your voice on the ninth day
On a nice cool and sunny day of May
I truly know how it feels to be free
You are the world to me
You are the reason I am who I am today
Liberating as it seems when we’re together
Floating these winds like a grafted feather
Going along with the rain and the wind
Driving along with the flow of the weather
Take me away to never return ever again
Take my hand and be my best friend
There is no life being away from you
All I need is to be forever with you
