The Things I Tell Myself

Justin really loves me,
Melissa's not a s|ut,
Trey isn't a pothead,
Brady gives a f**k.

Brandon doesn't hate me,
Garret doesn't lie,
Hunter wants more than sex from me,
Casey misses me sometimes.

Amber and Mallory are friends again,
Jessi and Christie are coming home,
My mom is really proud of me,
I do not feel alone.

All the things I try to tell myself,
Knowing they aren't true,
Just so I'll feel better,
And take my mind off all of you.

Worrying about others,
Has trapped me in the past,
Praying, crying, hoping,
For everything to last.

Even though it's already gone,
I'll continue to deny,
Yet my heart is dark and heavy,
For to it, I cannot lie.
