Soulmate

by mal   Jun 15, 2005

A light breeze tickles my face
I’m standing next to you
But your eyes are in a far off place

I watch the waves
As each one meets with the shore
The sun is disappearing
Soon there will be no more

I watch a tear slowly fall down your cheek
Onto your lips it settles
As I grow even more weak

I try to whisper but there is nothing to say
I go to grab your hand
But you just walk away

I ignore the pain as I step on a shell
I just stare in your direction
I know you can’t hide your feelings well

The sun is gone now
There is no one left on the beach
I slowly walk toward you
And for your arm I reach

But this time you turn my way
Look deep in my eyes
As you start to say

My princess my angel the love of my life
I will always remember you
And some day you’ll be my wife

But for now were departing
And going our separate ways
And I know in my heart
We will be together someday

I don’t say anything
As I watch you till you disappear
That was the hardest part
Cause I now you’re no longer near

Goodbye I whisper
But I know it’s to late
I know in my heart
I will never again see my soul mate
