The last argument

by don mohr   Jun 17, 2005

It was a desperate situation indeed
two adults rambling about money
then it escalated into fury-doubts
-lies-secrets came out like little
love spy's-Its never anyones
fault it seems, but it marches on
as if lead by a stronger force;
Is this love this weak? Can we not
solve life's simplest things? Its not
like we are impending our doom
patrol into the sacred chasms
of Cheops or into the Amazon
jungle searching for a lost
covenant!
We jury for position-"I"-"Me"-
"Mine"
This part hurts-it twists and turns
worse than a knife in the back-
Its the words that get misguided,
misconstrued, misconduct occurs
here-
I cried to dissolve the main issue-
But the money mattered more
now-too late you weren't taking
no more!-"No more!"-was more
like it-
The sirens were still distant as was
the flashing red and blue lights-
"I whispered to someone, is she
alright?"-What do I care, this was
our last fight.
