Insect burden, saviour of an angel.

by Sean   Jun 18, 2005

Yesterday,
I witnessed the burden
Of tears of an angel,
Falling softly, one by one.

With each tear which fell,
Piercing into me like glass,
And I held that angel,
And told her it was not her fault.

She told me slowly,
That she felt she couldn’t go on,
And I cried with the angel,
For no beauty such as her should fall.

Yes, yesterday I witnessed this burden,
And I try every day to take it,
Snapping under it, because I do love this angel,
And it hurts, for every moment,
That she is in pain,
It cripples me, boils inside of me.

And all the while I think to myself,
Why should angels have to cry?
And all the while I think to myself,
This is the same angel I cherish,
And yes I think to myself,
One day, happiness is the only memory,
We’ll ever have.

I will break you free,
As I know you have done the same,
For me.

A beautiful poem, however I am not too big on all the commas after each sentence. I don't believe they are necessary and can be used now and again for effect. But, if that's what you like, then dont pay heed to my comments.
I loved your wording; simple, yet at the same time indepth and, of course, unique. Your style was attractive- I enjoy a good poem without a certain scheme.
    Lovely job!

That's probably the best line from a teen I have read in a long, long time. A very good effort Sean, you certainly have potential.

As an exercise try writing the same poem with half the words.
