Choice

Growth is dampened with choice
And as one grows as does the enormity of choice
As does the worse to choose

Envision a fair maiden, her hair dappled sunlight
Her eyes overcast skies
Her skin so soft yet delicate as rice paper
And as inevitably this vision falls to love
Her beauty exaggerated and expanded for the happiness she now feels

Of course when Love does leave
Beauty is but a fleeting first impression
Sorrow is rampant in her visage
Then beauty is all but gone
Yet old Love sees this fall
And with it he sees his own
So he takes the shattered beauty in his arms
Makes love to her again like past
But he will never again admit he loved, or still loves, her
But she finds solace in his abuse
Mistakes lust and violence for confession
And is once more content by his side, though shadowed

Someday while humbly following her leash
Her master meets with a trusted Friend
Said trusted Friend is entrusted to hold leash for a briefity
And if his touch does somehow stray from leash to her body why matter?
But being in an injured state of mind from such abuse
Being so lonely in deceitful love
She falls for Friend and now
Her simple existence is shattered into a cobweb
Of hideous and torturous choice

In the one corner her personification of perfection
A good strong hand, a soft guidance
And for truth love is in his heart
She now knows love will never be spoken
So question asked is hard yet simple
Can she stay without hearing?
Can she live with and never here the sweet melody
Of the words all women long to hear?

Newly acquired and mysterious
Tempting but unsafe
He is as clear as the most cloudy day
And for all she knows insincere
But he is new and unpredictable
In a bad way, maybe so
But equal chance may see
He might just be the one who speaks
But can she love without knowledge?
Can she slice her rope and dive from
Of everything she's known for so long?

Growth is dampened with choice
But if one day you feel your choice
Will never be fairly made
Go with whatever feeling feels more
Or if equality is stubborn
Die, and never choose again
