Surviving

by ♥Munchkin♥   Jun 23, 2005

The other day was magical,
Everything felt so right,
Your hand on my skin,
Holding me close and tight,
I'd follow you to the ends of the earth,
Just to see your face each day,
But I'm learning to let go,
In case someday I find you're not here to stay,
I love you is all I can say,
Nothing means more,
Loving you is all I can do,
Nothing else makes me soar,
You make me feel safe and nervous all at once,
You make me feel as though I'm living life on the edge,
Life without you would be meaningless,
You leaving me is what I dread,
But I'm learning, I'm trying,
To make my life balance more,
So I can survive without you,
If someday you happened to walk out that door,
Right now I know I'd die,
I couldn't handle saying goodbye,
But someday I'll be balanced,
I'll find my place and no longer need to try,
Eventually a smile will live in my heart,
Strong enough to remain whether you stay or go,
Keeping me from falling,
Instead of having to put on a show,
For now you're here,
And from deep in my heart of hearts I hope that's forever true,
But I need to know throughout my body and soul,
That I can survive without you too.
