My Prince

by Terri   Jun 24, 2005

Growing up all the girls were told little stories;
of nursery rhymes full of simple lives, of love, fame and glory.

Our fathers would tell us that we all are beautiful, even all the farmers
One day we will find our prince, our knight in shiny armor.

I've been waiting all my life
I've been so good and patience to become my prince's wife

But i think and fear of the day that my prince will go off track
I curl up in a ball and wish for all my nursery rhymes back

There i was safe to dream all my dreams
hoping that one day, my prince will come to me

But it's been so long and I dread that he will never find me
So I'll close my heart and lock it up and throw away the key

My heart has been for him and I think its been to long
for thinking up this wonderful man, who will never come along

So i sit here and look out my window gazing in the distance
hoping to fall in love by meeting you within the instance

But until then I will dream
of my prince in his shiny armor, for my love is for only him.
